Pischel Family Cemetery
Knox County, Nebraska

Contributed by Judy Carlson, 2004

Note: This is not part of the Pischelville National Cemetery.

Mislivecek, Mary died January 3, 1878, aged 58 years

Pischel, Amalia died April 20, 1882, aged 7 years

Pischel, Anton died April 4, 1882, aged 15 years

Pischel, Barbora died May 11, 1882, aged 18 years

Pischel, Besena died February 24, 1879, aged 2 years

Pischel, Elizabeth died May 14, 1882, aged 2 years

Pischel, Rose died April 13, 1882, aged 9 years

Note: Five of the Pischel children died within weeks of each other in 1882 from the diphtheria epidemic. The name “Besena” was on the same side of the stone as Mary Mislivecek, so it is uncertain that Besena was a Pischel, but all assumptions indicate that she probably was. It is also assumed that Mary is a relative of the Pischel family. One stone bears the names of all seven burials.
