Memorial Services for Janet L. Eckmann, age 63 of Bloomfield, will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lindy with Pastor Kelley Pedersen officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Eckmann died, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at her home near Lindy, Nebraska.

Janet Louise (Lush) Eckmann was the daughter of Jay and Bertha (Schroeder) Lush. She was born on March 8, 1946 at Bloomfield, Nebraska. She attended school through the 8th grade at First Trinity Lutheran School in Bloomfield and then graduated high school from Bloomfield High School in 1964. On June 6, 1964 she married Gene Eckmann at Bloomfield, Nebraska. Five children were born to this union, Rhett J., Reed Gene, Paige Anne, Regg Roger, and Riley Glee.

Janet worked on the farm with her husband Gene, was a free-lance writer, historian and "jack of all trades." Janet was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lindy, Nebraska.

Survivors include her husband, Gene; children, Rhett and his wife, Julia of West Point, NE; son Reed and his wife Cecilia of Bloomfield, NE; daughter Paige and her husband Troy of Bloomfield, NE; son Regg and his wife Tess of Bloomfield, NE and daughter Riley and her husband Casey of Papillion, NE; 14 Grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister Clarice Gnuse of Bella Vista, AR; a brother Richard Lush of Kearney, NE; a brother Raymon Lush of Bloomfield, NE; a sister Bonita Pinkelman of Yankton, SD and a sister Ruth Howder of Bloomfield, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew.
