Anders (Andrew) Lindblad was born in Slatthog Parish in Smaland, Sweden on April 29, 1836, he was the son of Sven Andersson Fahna, born Nov 22, 1810 and Casja Johannesdotter, born Oct 10, 1801.

Andrew Lindblad married Brita Stina Amundsson, they were married in Sweden in 1859.

The parish records in Sweden said that Andrew & Brita Lindblad had four sons, when they emmigrated to the US in 1869 (They got their emmigration papers on April 10, 1869 from the pastor)

Their sons were Sven Johan born March 10, 1860, Anders Goran born April 12, 1862, Carl Gustaf born Dec2, 1864 and Aaron William born Nov 23, 1867.

According to the passenger list of their boat, they had bought tickets for Denver.

The family name was Lindblad in Sweden, Andrew got the name when he enrolled as a soldier in the Swedish army in 1859.

Andrew, Brita and their four sons settled in Laporte, Indiana, Andrew was a farmer, they had a farm at Rural route 3.

The Lindblad family joined the Bethany Lutheran church on 8/5/1870, church records show that Anders, Brita Stina, Sven Johan, Anders Goran and Carl William, there is no mention of Aaron William after he is mentioned on the parish records in Sweden, we do not know what happened to him, he was 2 yrs old, when they left for the US, maybe he died on their trip.

A later entry in the church records at the Lutheran church in Laporte, shows Carl Gustaf died 9/9/1897 in Laporte, he would have been only 10 yrs old.

Another entry shows Sven Johan confirmed 5/16/1875, 15 yrs old.

Andrew & Brita Stina Lindblad had a daughter Christina Marie born 2/10/1873, she died 2/10/1873, they had another daughter Stina Marie who was born 7/13/1874.

Some years later Brita’s father in Sweden died and Brita’s mother Marie Amundsson left Sweden and came to the US to join her only child, Brita and her husband, Andrew, Brita’s mother changed her name to Mary Lindblad, she is listed in their household in 1880 Census.

Anders Goran went by the name George Linbdblad, he lived at the farm with his father, mother and sister, he never married and never left home.

Andrew Lindblad died 6/27/1901, 71 years old, he is buried in the Carmel Cemetery, Laporte, Indiana.

Brita, George and Stina continued living at the farm, Brita Stina Lindblad died 4/12/1923, she was 85 years old, she is also buried in the Carmel Cemetery beside her husband.

George and his sister Stina continued to live at the farm in Coolspring Township until Stina married Frank Johnson, born 3/11/1875, they married 2/24/1909 in Laporte, they had a daughter Violet Marie Johnson born 8/6/1911 and a son George Johnson.

George Lindblad lived at the farm until his death in 1939, he is also buried in the Carmel Cemetery.

Andrew & Brita Lindblad’s son Sven Johan, went by the name Swan, he married Ida Caroline Anderson and they had two daughters Ann Christina and Effie Agnes, listed on the church records they moved to Wausa, Knox County, Nebraska and lived there several years, then came back to Laporte after their father Andrew died and lived in Laporte for a few years, several other children were born to them, some in Laporte and some in Nebraska, then moved back to Wausa, Nebraska again for good.
