TRAUTMAN, FIECK, VETTER, LOVO

Great-Great Grandparents Peter and Julia M. TRAUTMAN were enumerated in 1900 Columbia, Knox County....Julia's maiden name is said to be FIECK.

Peter was born in Hessen Darmstadt, Germany in 1856 and immigrated to US with parents Johannes b. 1828 and Katharine M. (VETTER) TRAUTMANN b. 1830, his brother Adam, and sisters Margaretha and Elizabeth arriving NY March 1872, his "Declaration of Intention" was filed 1903 North Dakota. The family settled in Tazewell County, Illinois where Johanned died before 1880 census was taken.

Julia immigrated in 1883 and filed in 1906 North Dakota . Peter married Julia abt. 1889 in Tazewell County, and by 1900 were living in Knox County....by 1902 they were living in North Dakota. Peter died between 1905-1907 and Julia re-married Norway born Anton LOVO in 1907.

Am looking to find what brought them to Knox County before moving on to ND? Did they have family living here?

Thanks,
Vera
