BOSH AND EMILIE [PAVLIK] CHOCHOLOUSEK

Bohus (Bosh) Chocholousek, son of Anton and Anna (Herma) Chocholousek was born in Bohemia on May 1st, 1885. As a very young child, he was brought to the United States by his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Bosh grew to manhood here in Nebraska and became a carpenter’s apprentice. After a few years’ training, Bosh was regarded as a master carpenter. With his skills, Bosh built numerous homes and buildings including the Marie Chocholousek, former J. J. Chalupnik, and Oscar Schreier homes; he installed the ZCBJ Hall dance floor (that is still in use!) and the Verdigre dance pavilion which was located in the northwest part of town.

In September of 1911, Bosh was united in marriage to Emilie Pavlik, and to this union was born one child, Walter George, who currently resides in Albany, California.

On August 29, 1933, Bosh married Marie Jerman and from this union were born two children: Dean Bosh Chocholousek of Holt, Missouri, and Alice Marie Anderson of Grand Island, Nebraska.

In January of 1942, Bosh suddenly became ill and was taken to a Norfolk, Nebraska, hospital where he underwent gallbladder surgery and was on the recovery list when he suffered a light heart attack followed by a severe heart attack the next day. Bosh Chocholousek passed away on January 18, 1942, at the age of 56 years.
