[pg 247 PHOTO Joseph and Frances Dvorak and family]

JOSEPH AND FRANCES [RYCHETSKY] DVORAK

Joseph and Frances (Rychetsky) Dvorak and their three oldest children, Joseph, John, and Katherine, came from Czechoslovakia to America in 1883 and settled on a farm in Madison County. The year they arrived, Frank was born. In 1890 William was born, and Thomas in 1892. In 1907 they moved to Madison.

In 1919 Joseph and Frances celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. (In those days there were not as many 50th anniversaries as there are today.)

In 1922 they decided to move to Verdigre to be near their children who were already living here: Mrs. Frank (Katherine) Vech, Frank, William, and Thomas. Their son John lived in Holt County.

Frances passed away in 1925. Joseph died in 1940 at the age of 99 years. At this time, it adds up to the sixth generation.
