VINC AND MARY [SLAMA] ELIS

Vinc Elis was born June 20, 1877, in Nove Mesto, Moravia. At the age of six years he left the land of his birth and with his parents came to America, settling in the vicinity of Pischelville, Nebraska. Here he attended country school and helped his folks on the farm.

On June 6, 1911, he married Mary Slama of Lynch, Nebraska. She was born at Tyndall, South Dakota, on June 27, 1886, to Joseph and Josie Slama at Butte. They farmed west of Verdigre for many yeas, until their retirement. They had four children: Ludvick Elis, Rudolph Elis, Ludmilla (Mrs. Vennie Pavlik), all residents of the Verdigre area, and Helen (Mrs. Leonard Juracek), O’Neill.

Vinc Elis died May 9, 1968, and Mary died February 20, 1965.
