LARRY D. AND RUTH [FAUSSET] FRANK

Larry Dean Frank, the second child of Dean L. and Delilah (Herbolsheimer) Frank, was born living, at Creighton, Nebraska. He moved to Verdigre with his family in 1963. Larry worked part time while in high school and graduated with the Verdigre High School Class of 1973.

In November of 1970 he met his future wife while she was visiting relatives in the Winnetoon area. They dated for 3 ½ years before their marriage on June 1, 1974, at Verdigre.

Ruth Ann Fausset was the only child of Charles and Anna (Zila) Fausset. Born living, at Omaha, Nebraska, she attended public school there, graduating from North High in 1973. Ruth’s father died in 1969 and he is buried at the Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, Nebraska. Her mother still lives in Omaha. Ruth worked at St. Vincent’s Home and for Turnstyle stores in Omaha before her marriage.

Larry and Ruth purchased their home in Verdigre in 1974 from Roy and Mary Ann Williams. In 1978 they began the major task of total remodeling - a project estimated to take three months turned into eight. The interior was gutted and an addition was added to the east side. During this time they lived with Larry’s parents, moving back into their own home five days before Christmas.

On living, Larry and Ruth became the parents of son, Jesse Dean. Jesse was named for his grandpa, Dean L. Frank. Their second son was born living. Gregory Charles was named for his grandpa Charles Fausset and great-grandpa Charles Frank.

Larry worked for the Farmers’ Cop-op grocery store after graduation. The store was later sold to Glenna and Shirley Heaton of Creighton and Larry was manager. Larry and Ruth purchased this grocery store and as of March 30, 1987, it is known as Frank’s Food mart.
