Anton grew to manhood on the homestead of his father and mother located in the Northwest Quarter of section 4, Township 31 North, Range 6 West of the 6th P. M. Anton lived most of his life on that homestead where he worked, planted, cultivated, and harvested the crops, and cared for his livestock. His mother died while Anton was a young boy, sometime around 1890, and he lived with his father, John, until the latter passed away on January 27, 1911. Anton’s parents are buried on the homestead.

On May 6, 1913, Anton Holecek and Emma Benda, daughter of Anton and Mary (Ticky) Benda, were married in Knox County, Nebraska. Emma was born July 6, 1894.

Due to failing health, Anton went to live in the Riverview Rest Home in Niobrara on June 11, 1963. He remained there until November 16, 1967, when he was moved to the Butte nursing home at Butte, Nebraska. There Anton resided until his death on April 7, 1968, at the Lynch hospital, Lynch, Nebraska.

Emma Holecek lived in Niobrara until July 16, 1969, when she moved to Bruce Park Terrace in Creighton. She resides there at this writing at the age of 92.

The Holecek homestead was purchased by a neighbor, Adolph O. Liska of Niobrara.
