MAX AND VIVIENNE [BOELTER] LE MASTERS

[pg 314 PHOTO Howard Jay and Dollie [Van Kleek] LeMasters]

Max LeMasters, only son of Jay and Dollie (Van Kleek) LeMasters, was born on the homestead of his great-grandfather, Henry Grimm. At that time the post office was at Walnut, Nebraska.

Max went to Grimton School District No. 45 and then attended high school at Creighton because Neal’s Bus Service came to the Venus Lutheran Church corner, only ½ mile away. One of his many enjoyments was rollerskating at Oakview Park.

On August 10, 1949, Max and Vivienne Boelter were married at the Lutheran Parsonage by Reverend Quast.

Vivienne taught at the Midway School District the following two years. They lived with his parents where Max continued to farm with his dad.

On living, Connie Lynn was born, and on living, Carolyn Marie was born. In 1955 Jay and Dollie built a new home ½ mile west of there, near the Grimton school.

Max and Vivienne raised the herd of Hereford stock cows to 95 head and went from farming to ranching. In 1967 a permit was acquired to irrigate from the Middle Branch Creek. Mostly alfalfa and some corn were irrigated. In March of 1962 Max bought 160 acres of pastureland in Section 4, Township 29N, Range 8W, from Herman Dorr, with the exclusion of three acres for his building site. Wildlife was prominent and was enjoyed by the family even though many deer were bagged by hunters.

Patty Jean was born living, and Nancy Ann on living. Connie graduated from the eighth grade at Grimton, but due to consolidation with Verdigre in 1966, they all attended Verdigre School District 83R. Bus service was extended to that area.

Max entered Clarkson hospital in Omaha on June 2, 1978, and remained until his death on January 7, 1979. He is buried in the Grimton Cemetery, one mile from where he was born and had lived his life.

Connie married Randy Gene Stahlecker of O’Neill on April 8, 1972. Their children are: Susan Rae, born living, and Kara Ann born living.

Carolyn and Roger Joe Vech, Verdigre, were married June 2, 1973. Their children are Sheri Marie, born living, and Rick Thomas born living.

Pat and Edward Dean Sukup, Verdigre, were married September 4, 1976. Their children are: Sara Jo, born living, Kathlene Rebecca born living, and Molly Jean, living.

Nancy and Perry James Pavelka, Verdigre, were married April 12, 1986.
