HENRY AND MARION [HRBEK] RUZICKA
Henry Ruzicka, son of Frank Ruzicka and Jane Minarik Ruzicka, was
born March 23, 1899, near Pischelville, Nebraska. He died September
18, 1985, and was buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery at
Pischelville.
On September 20, 1922, he was married at Center to Marion Hrbek,
daughter of Mike and Katie Dobrichovsky Hrbek. She was born June 7,
1900, near Pischelville.
Henry attended school at District 46 in Western Township, as did
Marion.
Henry and Marion had four children: Violet (Jaros), Marcella (Kovanda),
Clifford and Glen.
The couple farmed in the Pischelville area all their lives until
retiring to Verdigre in 1977.
Henry served on the school board and the township board for many
years. He also worked with the ASCS and was a member of the ZCBJ
Lodge No. 8 at Pischelville for over 60 years, serving for 45 years
as secretary and treasurer of District No. 7, a tenure of office
ended only by death.
The couple would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary two days
after his death.
Marion continues to live in her home, enjoying crocheting and
flowers.
Henry and Marion Ruzicka had four children: Marcella, Violet, Glen,
and Clifford.
Marcella Ruzicka married Frank Kovanda and they had three children:
Kenneth, deceased 1953; Raymond, deceased 1974; and Dale, who
resides at Nelson, Nebraska. Frank and Marcella live in Verdigre.
Violet Ruzicka married Louis J. Jaros, who died in 1979. They had
three children: Kathryn, Bonnie, and Cynthia. Kathryn Kay Jaros
married James Ickler and they have two sons, Jeffrey James and Korey
Jay. Bonnie Lynn Jaros and her husband, Cal Riley, are the parents
of two children, Scott Joseph and Nicole Lynn. Cynthia Marie Jaros
married Dennis Stradley and they have one son, Brandon.
Glen Ruzicka, oldest son of Henry and Marion Ruzicka, married Jean
Brunner. Their children are Jacqueline Marie who married James
Lechtenbert, Stephan Henry, and Jerilyn

Clifford Ruzicka, youngest child of Henry and Marion, married Marie
Hospodka. Their children are Joy Laurette, Jon Gerald, Jim Randall,
and Jill Marie. Clifford and Marie were divorced and Cliff married
Nancy Randall. They are the parents of twins Mark and Marla and
reside in Lakeport, California.
