PETER AND LYNETTE [FILLMER] SUKUP

Peter was born living, at Creighton, Nebraska, the sixth of twelve children born to Arthur and Mary Sukup. He grew up on the family farm west of Verdigre and attended the Sukup country school only ¾ mile from the family farm. Irene Moticka was the teacher during five of the seven years he attended there. Peter attended high school at Verdigre and graduated as a junior in 1976.

After high school he did construction work, first in O’Neill putting up grain bins, and then building roads for Midwest Bridge and Construction in Norfolk. In 1977 Peter started a course in electronics at Northeast Community College and graduated in 1979.

On June 17, 1978, Pete married Lynette Fillmer at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Lynette, the first of three children of Leonard and Lois Fillmer, was born living, at York, Nebraska. The family moved to Norfolk at the age of six and she attended Christ Lutheran School to the eighth grade. She graduated from Norfolk Senior High in 1976 and is now working for a degree in business at Peru State College.

Peter and Lynette both worked at King Radio, an aircraft radio manufacturer at Ottawa. Their first son, Scott, was born living, at Ottawa. They moved to Sutherland, Nebraska in 1980. Peter worked as an Instrument and Control Technician for Gerald Gentleman Power Station (NPPD). Their second son, Gregory was born living, at North Platte, Nebraska. In 1984 they transferred to Auburn, Nebraska, to work at Cooper Nuclear Power Station. Their third son, James, was born living, at Auburn.

Some of Peter’s hobbies are computers, hunting, and restoring old cars. Lynette’s hobbies include cooking, tennis, reading, and crocheting.
