WALTER AND DEBBIE [HILKEMEIER] SUKUP, JR.
Walter Sukup, Jr., son of Walter and Joan (Vecera) Sukup, was born
in living. He attended country school and then Verdigre Public School,
graduating in 1974. He was always interested in building and at the
age of six was building toys of his own. He worked at the Gambles
Store during his senior year in high school.
He worked for the Chevy Garage in Verdigre and Morrills and Borgmans
in Creighton until 1981 when he opened his own gas station and
repair shop in Creighton.
In 1976 he married Debbie Hilkemeier, daughter of Dale and Shirley
Hilkemeier. Debbie had attended Creighton schools and Northeast
Nebraska Tech. She is employed at the American National Bank in
Creighton. They have two sons, Christopher and Ryan.
