JOHN J. AND ROSALIE [BURKHARDT] VONDRACEK
John J. Vondracek and Rosalie E. Burkhardt were married April 2,
1953, at St. Wenceslaus Church in Verdigre by Father Oborny. Their
wedding trip was a train trip to Victorville, California, and George
A.F.B., where John was stationed with the Air Force.
John was born on living, to George and Mamie Holan Vondracek.
He was the fourth of five children.
John grew up in Verdigre, Nebraska, and graduated from high school
there. He received his Bachelors Degree from Wayne State College and
his Masers Degree and Specialists Degree in School Administration
from the University of Nebraska. After five years of teaching in
Spencer, Nebraska, and eighteen years of school administration in
Arthur, Lynch, and Oxford, Nebraska, John went into real estate
development and investments.

Rosalie F. Burkhardt was born living, at Walnut,
Nebraska, to Andrew and Ida J. Janna Burkhardt. She attended rural
school to the eighth grade in District 26 and high school at
Verdigre. After graduation she attended Wayne State College to
receive teacher training. Rosalie taught in District 151. She was
also employed by the Northwestern Bell telephone company in
Hartington, Nebraska, and Sioux City, Iowa.
The couple resides at Oxford, Nebraska, which has been their home
for over thirteen years. They are active in many organizations and
projects.
John and Rosalie are the parents of five children: Kathryn born
living; Susan born living, in Keflavik, Iceland;
Debra Kay was born living; John, Jr., born living,
and Barbara was born living.
Kathy graduated from high school at Lynch, Nebraska, in 1972 and
graduated from the College of St. Mary’s in Omaha as a RN. She is
married to Kirk J. Fox and they have two children, Nathan and Kylie.
They live in Oxford.
Susan graduated from high school at Oxford in 1974 and graduated
from Kearney State College with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is
married to Kevin P. Biskup and lives at Orleans, Nebraska. They have
three children: Blake, Sally and Brett.
Debra Kay graduated from high school at Oxford in 1979 and is
married to John D. Gibson. They have two children, Tricia and Adam,
and reside in Stratton, Nebraska.
John, Jr., graduated from high school in Oxford in 1978, attended
Kearney State College, and lives in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Barbara graduated from Oxford in 1984 and is a junior at Kearney
State College.
