ROBERTS
ROBERTS, Dr. George. Was a resident of Creighton in the 1880s and
Trustee of the University of Nebraska (1888-1894). He came to
Nebraska in the early 1870s as the Medical Doctor at the Santee
Indian Reservation.
I am researching Dr. ROBERTS as one of the early Hicksite Quakers
who moved to Nebraska. (In his mother's printed* biography she tells
of making the trip from Philadelphia to the Santee Reservation in
the early 1870s to bring smallpox vaccine to help control an
epidemic. In 1888 she makes an extended trip to Nebraska and spends
several weeks in Creighton. She describes in some detail the City of
Creighton that she experienced when she visited her son there.
