THE DAVID BENNAR FAMILY
David Bennar came from Virginia. The family moved to Minnesota where
he met Christina Fosterman. They were married May 11, 1887, and
moved to Knox County. They lived first in the Ruth area and later
made their home on a farm, now known as the Sukup Place. They had
two daughters and two sons, Lena, Emma, William and Gus.
Lena Bennar was born June 27, 1875. She married Rolland Winchell.
They had three sons: Dick, Kie, and Frank Winchell and two
daughters: Belle and Blanche Winchell.
Emma Bennar was born Septemer 23, 1875. She married N. P. Nelson.
They had four sons: Harley, Fred, Dave and Arnold Nelson and two
daughters: Elsie and Leona Nelson.
William Bennar married Miss Heinieke and they had one son. He lived
in Enid, Oklahoma.
Gus Bennar was born January 7, 1883. He married Anna Block on April
25, 1905. They had three sons and two daughters: David, Sophie,
Floyd, Alvin, and Florance.

David C. Bennar, born April 29, 1906, died in infancy on September
18, 1906.
Sophie A. Bennar, born July 10, 1908, married Gerald L. Baer on
January 24, 1933, and they had one son, Gerald, Jr., and three
daughters: Delores A., Julia M., and Sophie M.
Floyd Bennar was born April 29, 1911. He married Lillian Pospisil on
February 21, 1934 (see separate history). They had two children,
Violet and Ardis. Floyd had an accident with a horse that took his
life.
Alvin Bennar was born December 24, 1917. He married Vivian Vaughn
and had four sons: David, Alvin, Jr., Lee, and Michael, and two
daughters, Darla and Sharon. He divorced Vivian and married Celith.
Florance Bennar was born living. She married Kenneth
Johnson. They had four daughters: Paulette, Connie, Lucille, and
Sondra, and one son Randy.
