AUGUST AND BERTHA [BLOCK] BOELTER

August Boelter, who was born August 8, 1877, came to America July 3, 1884, from Frienvalde, Germany, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Boelter, brother, and two sisters. They all lived in the Walnut area.

Bertha Block, born November 5, 1881, came to America from Noblin, Germany, on December 23, 1901, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Block, one sister, and three brothers.

August Boelter and Bertha Block were married April 8, 1902. They lived in the Walnut area until August of 1925 when they moved to Verdigre. They had four children: Carl, Agnes, Wilma, and Gladys.

Carl Boelter married Ione Brookhouser. They had two daughters and a son: Marceline (Mrs. Adolph Kruse), Bonnie Sprengel, and Bruce Boelter.

Agnes married Rolland Miller and they had four children: Bernadine (Mrs. Earl Slattery), Beulah (Mrs. Bill Kruse), Ruth (Mrs. Lawrence Jensen), and Glen Miller.

Wilma married Martin Buskhol and they have one son, Richard.

Gladys, Mrs. Arnold Tikalsky, has two sons, Robert and Dale.

August Boelter died August 29, 1953. His wife followed him in death on April 20, 1970.
