ARTHUR J. AND LILLYANN [FRISCH] COOVER
Arthur J. Coover, a native of Neligh, Nebraska, was born at Orchard
on February 26, 1928. Lillyann R. Frisch was born at Verdigre,
Nebraska, on November 5, 1928. They were married December 27, 1950,
at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre.
Art Coover spent the first two years of his marriage serving Uncle
Sam, of that time he spent 1 ˝ years in Germany with the army’s 4th
Division, 44th Artillery. After his discharge, the couple started
farming ten miles west of Verdigre. They rented until 1957 when they
purchased their first farm. They continued to farm and ranch and had
beef and dairy cattle until 1981 when they had a farm sale and moved
into Verdigre.
Art is a member of the Legion and Knights of Columbus Third and
Fourth Degrees. He keeps very active doing odd jobs.
Lillyann is a member of the Just So Busy and 1980 Clubs, Catholic
Daughters of the Americas, and the American Legion Auxiliary. At
present she is treasurer of the Altar Society, does cake decorating,
caters wedding dinners and receptions, loves her flowers and
gardens, and takes great pride in the quilts she makes.

They have three daughters: Vaneta Sheri (Mrs. Virgil Heppner), Vonda
Ann Bertschinger, and Velda Lou (Mrs. Steve Chocholousek). They have
five grandchildren: Jeff and Sheri Bertschinger, Jarod Heppner, and
Kyla and Kelli Chochoousek.
Art and Lillyann are happy to be a part of the Verdigre area.
