HAROLD AND MABEL [STANEK] DIEZ

Bertha and Joseph A. Diez were the parents of Harold W. Diez. He was born February 16, 1908. Barbara and Otto C. Stanek were the parents of Mabel E. Stanek. She was born April 23, 1903.

Mabel and Harold were married June 24, 1931. Their daughter, Donna Mae, is Mrs. Norman (Ted) Haverkamp. They had five daughters and one son.

Mabel and Harold continued operation of his parents’ farm. Mabel died May 15, 1977, and Harold continues to live on the family farm. Since 1978 Ted and Donna Mae have continued the farming operation.

Mabel and Harold were graduates of Verdigre High School. Mabel attended Wayne State and the `
University of Nebraska. She taught in a rural school and the Verdigre school. She was a member of Ionic Chapter No. 172 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stoney Butte Extension Club, and the Helping Hand Club. Mabel’s life focused on concern for family and friends.

Harold is a member of Ionic Chapter No. 87 of the Masonic Lodge of Niobrara, the Scottish Rite Bodies, and Abu Bakr Temple of Sioux City. In his quiet and unassuming way, he enriches the lives of all who know him.
