On the evening of Memorial Day in 1961 George Frank was rendered
unconscious when he was struck by lightning as he stood on the front
porch of his home. The house and a nearby tree were also hit. (This
house was located where the Marvin Herberts now live.) Mrs. Frank
found her husband on the ground and took him into the house where he
was unconscious for two hours. She treated him herself. He suffered
burns on his lower left arm and had no feeling in that arm for some
time.
George Frank died June 20, 1966. Anna died February 27, 1980. They
are buried at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery beside their daughter Minnie
and George’s mother.
