LOUIS AND DENISE [OBER] HERBERT
Louis Herbert was born to Marvin and Lola Herbert on living, at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton, Nebraska. He
was raised on the Kremeier family farmstead on which Louis and his
family are now living.
Louis attended Verdigre Public School from which he graduated in
1973. He then attended Northeast Technical Community College in
Norfolk, Nebraska, graduating with a Junior Accounting Degree in
1974. Louis was then employed for ten years by Morrill Grain in
Creighton, Nebraska, as assistant office manager. In 1983, Louis
purchased the elevator from the farmers’ Co-op in Verdigre and named
his business “Herbert Feed & Grain.”
On June 28, 1980, Louis married Denise Ober, daughter of Doug and
Twyla Ober of Creighton. Denise attended Creighton Public Schools
and graduated in 1978. She then worked at Morrill Grain Company
where she did secretarial work for three years. After her marriage,
she was employed at Great Plains until the birth of their first
child. As of now, Denise is a full-time mother and housewife.
They have thee children. Their first was a son, Jason Douglas, born
living, at Osmond, Nebraska. On living, their second
child arrived, a daughter, Stephanie Ann, who was born at Creighton.
They had their third child, another girl, Nicole Marie, on living, at Osmond, Nebraska.
Louis and his family enjoy living in the Verdigre area and on the
family farm.
