MR. AND MRS. CHRIST HORSTMANN

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Horstmann of German descent came to Knox County from Fort Wayne, Indiana, with their six children: Minnie, Lizzie, Annie, William, Mary, and Caroline, and settled on a farm north of Winnetoon. Two children had died in infancy in Indiana. Two more children, Fred and Emma, were born here in Knox County.

Minnie married Chris Kruse; Lizzie married Fred Mecke; Annie - Carl Kumm; William - Meta Scheer; Mary - Hans Bohren; Caroline - Fred Beckmann; Fred married Herta Hinzmann, and Emma married Pete N. Christensen.

Fred, his wife, and family lived on the farm many years. They later sold it to Roger Horstmann and he then sold it to Robert Ebel.

All the children and their spouses are deceased.
