Joe Jacot, Jr., was born living, to Joseph J. Jacot and Ella (Ruzicka)
Jacot of Verdel, Nebraska.
Dorothy Ann Stoural, daughter of Adam Stoural and Mary Wesselman
Stoural, was born living, at Verdigre. Both grew up in
the Verdigre community, graduating from high school in 1942 and
1943.
Joe served in the Navy during World War II from 1942-1946, and it
was on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1946, that Joe and Dorothy Ann
were married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre.
For most of their married life they have lived on the farm southeast
of Verdigre where Mrs. Jacot was born. From 1956 to 1962 they lived
on the farm adjoining the Stoural farm known as the old Herout
place. Now their son Steve and wife Betty (Sokol) Jacot live on this
farm.
Farming, livestock, and an insurance agency have been the family
interests these past 40 years.
They are the parents of five children: David, Richard, Mary Jacot
Jones, Catherine Jacot Vesely, and Steven. They have three grandsons
and seven granddaughters.
