DOUGLAS AND SHELLEY [KILGORE] KONOPASEK

Douglas Eugene Konopasek, the only child of Leo B. Konopasek and Sylvia Marie Kotrous Konopasek Marshall, was born living, at Norfolk, Nebraska. He was raised in Verdigre and graduated from Verdigre Public School in 1973. He attended the University of South Dakota at Springfield for two years and then graduated in 1977 from Yankton College.

Doug is currently employed by Verdigre High School as physical education and health teacher. He is also head coach for football and basketball.

On July 26, 1980, he married Shelley Marie Kilgore. She is the second of four children born to Donald Duane Kilgore and Mary Elizabeth Moran Kilgore, and was born living, at York, Nebraska. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School from kindergarten to seventh grade, and from eighth grade to graduation in 1976, she went to North Platte High School. She received a diploma in nursing at Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska, in July of 1979. Shelley is currently employed as a registered nurse at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton, Nebraska, and as school nurse by Educational Service Unit No. 1 of Wakefield, Nebraska.

Doug and Shelly have three sons: Kyle Aaron, born living; Toby Alan, born living, and Cody Adam, born living. All were born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota.
