JOHN F. AND ANNA [VESELY] KOUNOVSKY

John F. Kounovsky, the eldest son of John and Anna (Vydra) Kounovsky, was born May 19, 1866, in Sipi County, Plzen, Bohemia. He married Anna Vesely October 10, 1891.

Anna Vesely was born September 14, 1872, to Frank Vesely (February 2, 1841 - April 12, 1899) and Barbara Herrich Vesely (September 10, 1835 - October 8, 1915). Frank and Barbara came from Bohemia. Anna had five brothers and sisters - Mike, Bessie, Mary, and two youngsters who were deceased.

John F. and Anna farmed in the Pischelville area until 1904 when they moved to Verdel and operated a grocery store until 1913. Seven children were born to John F. and Anna Kounovsky: Mary (Mrs. Anton Kotrba), Frank, John, Jr., (January 13, 1896 - November 6, 1976), twins Bertha and Tillie (married Louis Hanzlik), Elsie married Louis Winklebauer, and Louie.

John F. Kounovsky died June 28, 1913, and Anna on June 20, 1956.
