CHARLES AND FRANCINE [BARTOS] KUCERA
Francine Bartos was the third of seven children born to Frank and
Alma Kotrous Bartos. She was raised in the Verdigre area, graduating
from Verdigre High School in 1966. For a short time she worked in
Wakefield and later attended college in Kansas City. After
completing her schooling, she returned home until she was placed
with Hertz Rent-a-Car in Chicago. Fran worked for this company four
years until they relocated their office. She then worked for Z.
Frank Chevrolet in the licensing and title department. She moved
back to Verdigre in 1972.
Charles Kucera was the third of five children born to Clarence and
Evelyn Kves Kucera. A 1966 graduate of Verdigre High School, he
attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. After a stint in the
army, he returned to college and received his Bachelor of Science
degree in 1972.
In 1973 Charles and Fran were married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic
Church in Verdigre. They moved to Hebron, Nebraska, where Charles
was teaching. Their first child, Charles Carter, was born in
living.
Charles obtained a teaching position in Verdigre and they moved back
in 1975. Their daughter Carrie Ann was born in living.
Charles is presently teaching English and is the Verdigre school
guidance counselor. Fran is employed by The National Bank of Neligh
- Verdigre Branch.
