LAWRENCE AND KATHRYN [NIELSEN] LISKA

Shortly after graduation from Niobrara High School in 1942, Lawrence Liska joined the U. S. Navy. He served until 1946, spending most of that time in the Pacific area and occupation of Japan.

In February of 1949 Lawrence, son of Adolph and Johanna Liska, married Kathryn Nielsen, daughter of Niels and Clara Nielsen. They moved to a farm just a few miles east of his parents and two miles north of the Sparta Store (where they still reside). They have three children: Doris, Kathy, and Neil.

Doris is married to Mike McCormick, son of Lonnie and Elsie McCormick, and they live at Herman, Nebraska, with their five sons: Lee, Loren, Tony, Tracy, and Luke, and one daughter Leslie.

Kathy has worked for the National Park Service for several years and now resides at Seal Rock, Oregon.

Neil married Patricia Paesl, daughter of Marvin and Helen Paesl, and they live a few miles from his parents. They have two young sons, Shane and Cole.
