MARY AND PATRICIA MLADY

Mary Katherine Mlady, the first daughter of Leo and Elsie Mlady, was born living, at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton, Nebraska.

During her childhood, Mary received her education at Verdigre Public Schools District 83-R and graduated in May of 1979. During high school she was active in band, chorus, swing choir, stage band, volleyball, basketball, National Honor Society, pep club, V-club, drama and speech club, and student council. She was also involved in the CYO, a member of the Sparta Sparklers 4-H Club for 10 years, and reigned as Verdigre’s 1977-78 Kolach Queen.

During summers and high school, Mary was employed at Alpine Village as a nurse’s aide.

Mary attended College of St. Mary in Omaha, Nebraska, from 1979-80 and then returned to work at Alpine Village. In August of 1981 she returned to college at Northeast Technical Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, and graduated in August of 1982 with a degree in Practical Nursing. That month she began employment at St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill, Nebraska, as a LPN, and presently holds that position. She resides in O’Neill and is currently serving as treasurer of the Holt County Right To Life organization.

Patricia Ann Mlady, the youngest of five children of Leo and Elsie Mlady, was born living, at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton. She received her education at Verdigre Public Schools. In high school Patricia was in band, chorus, drama, speech, volleyball, basketball, National Honor Society, V-club, and FFA. She attended CCD classes at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and was a ten--year member of the Sparta Sparklers 4-H Club. She graduated as salutatorian of her class in May of 1984.

Patricia is currently attending Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, majoring in Chemistry and Biology Secondary Education. She is involved in Alpha Lambda Delta, Lambda Delta Lambda, intra-mural sports, and Cardinal Key. Her expected date of graduation is May of 1988.

Patricia is an involved member of the Knox County Pork Producers, Verdigre FFA Alumni, and the FFA Past State Officer Alumni affiliate.
