JAMES L. AND ELAINE [BLOCK] MOTT
James L. Mott was born living, at Walnut, Nebraska, to James
A. and Julia (Jelinek) Mott. On March 3, 1945, he married Elaine
Block at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Walnut, where they both had
been baptized and confirmed.

Elaine Block was born living, at Venus to August F. and
Bessie (Buxton) Block.
The couple lived on a farm in the Walnut area until March of 1947
when they moved to Verdigre. James went into the trucking business
with his brother, George, Jr. After his brother’s death, James
continued the trucking and feed business for a number of years. He
was then employed by Associated Milk Producers, Inc. (AMPI) as
fieldman until his retirement in 1983.
Elaine, a graduate of Creighton Public School, taught District 125
Midway country school at Venus. She is presently a Care Staff Member
at Alpine Village Retirement Center in Verdigre.
James and Elaine have three daughters: Diana, Sharon, and Shirley.
Diane married Larry J. Sukup of Verdigre and they are presently
farming in the immediate area. They have two daughters, Melissa and
Christine.
Sharon married Eric Robinson and they reside in Yutan, Nebraska.
Eric is a science teacher at the Millard, Nebraska High School. They
have two children, Jon and Amber.
Shirley married Ted O. Kinnison and they reside at Wisner, Nebraska.
Ted is employed by the State of Nebraska as a Grade A. Dairy
inspector. They have a son, Daren.
