FLORIAN AND ANNA [ZAKORSKY] PAVELKA

Florian Pavelka was born March 3, 1832, in Kalse, Bohemia. He married Anna Zakorsky, who was born July 25, 1831, in Prachatice, Bohemia. They were blessed with five children: V. A., Teresiz, Frances, Katie, and Frances.

V. A. was born April 22, 1859.

Teresiz was born October 15, 1864, and married Frank Holan, Sr.

Frances died in infancy.

Katie was born June 9, 1873, and married Joseph A. Drobny.

Frances (Fanny) was born March 6, 1870, and was one year old when they came to America.

Florian and his family lived close to Germany, therefore, their children learned more of the German language than Czech. For this reason, they decided to come to America. They lived a few years in Chicago before coming to Nebraska in 1878. This is where Florian took a homestead to make their new home.

Florian Pavelka died July 3, 1894, and Anna passed away August 13, 1898. They are buried in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery at Verdigre, Nebraska.
