KEITH AND THERESA [PETTINGER] PAVLIK

Keith Francis Pavlik, born living, to Edwin D. Pavlik and Christina Ann Guenther Pavlik, grew up in Verdigre, Nebraska. After graduating from Verdigre High School in 1955, he attended Wayne State Teachers’ College during the summer and taught at Rohrer School in Knox County. The following summer was spent at WSTC and followed by teaching one year at Pleasant Valley School. During the summer of 1957 he was employed at the Verdigre Creamery. That September he enlisted in the U. S. Army. Basic training was completed at Fort Carson, Colorado. He entered the Army Security Agency Schools at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. School was followed by two years at Rothwesten, West Germany.

In 1960, following his military years, Keith continued working toward a degree in education at Creighton University. His graduation there in the summer of 1965 was interrupted, 1962 to 1964, by two years of teaching at Sukup school and a semester of teaching at Holy Name School in Omaha. The summer of 1963 was spent working on the farm of Felix and Florence Holan.

The fall of 1965 saw Keith teaching at Druid Hill Elementary School in the Omaha Public School system. The following summer he and Theresa Elizabeth Pettinger were married at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in the country near the town of Cumberland, Iowa, and not far from the farm where Theresa grew up. Theresa had graduated from the Cumberland-Massena High School in Messena, Iowa, and was attending Creighton University.

Theresa and Keith moved to Tucson, Arizona, in July of 1966 where Theresa completed her work for a B.S. in Medical Technology through an internship at St. Mary’s Hospital. Keith became employed by the Tucson Public Schools, teaching grades 4 through 8. He remains employed there.

During these twenty-plus years, five children were born to Theresa and Keith. The oldest, Meg Elizabeth, was born living. Monica Christine was born living. Christopher Daniel was born living, and Damien Francis on living. Living is the birthday of their fifth child, Genevieve Marie.

At the present time the family resides at 8539 E. Desert Steppes Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85710.
