DEAN AND EVELYN [MEYER] PIERCE

Dean N. Pierce and Evelyn A. Meyer were married July 18, 1955. They settled on a farm twelve miles southwest of Verdigre.

In their early years of marriage, they decided to milk cows, but switched to raising hogs, stock cattle, corn, oats, milo, and alfalfa. Many hours were spent building hog houses, erecting corn bins, a garage, and their home in 1965.

They are the parents of six sons and one daughter. Gail Pierce and wife Lynnae live in Lincoln with their son Nicholas. Paul Pierce and his wife Mary have three sons and a daughter, Duane, Lance, Landon, and Ashli. They live near Norfolk, Nebraska. Dennis and wife Lori have two children, Brett and Staci. They live in Verdigre. Philip and LeAnn live on a farm southwest of Verdigre, and David is at home, helps his father on the farm, and rents other land. Lynn Pierce is attending college at Wayne State and spends summers on the farm. Their daughter, Mrs. Sherry Land, and husband Mark attend Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska.
