FRANK E. AND MARY [NELSON] PIERCE

Frank E. Pierce, son of John and Martha Pierce, was born May 3, 1891. Mary H. Nelson was a daughter of Nels Nelson and Jostine Christofferson. They were married December 21, 1919.

Their first home for two years was on a farm in the Walnut area. Then they moved to a farm eight miles southwest of Verdigre.

To this union were born two sons and three daughters: Dean, Anne, Doris, Roma, and Carol.

Besides farming and raising cattle, Frank was a Knox County Supervisor for 15 years.

Mary was active as a Sunday school teacher, church organist, and transcribing Braille Sunday School lessons. She spent many hours raising flowers and planting fruit trees. She loved to make quilts, crochet, and do other fancy work.

Frank passed away December 17, 1968, and Mary died December 7, 1982.
