EMIL AND JARMILA [DVORACEK] RUZICKA
Emil Ruzicka, son of William and Josie, was born April 14, 1906, on
the Pischelville homestead of his grandparents, John and Barbara
Ruzicka. He attended school at Pischelville as did his older sister,
Elsie. The school, District No. 7, later burned and was rebuilt in
the same area.
Along with farming, Emil enjoyed hunting and fishing. In the fall
and winter months he would run his trap lines, and as a young man he
was able to buy his first car with the money he made from selling
furs.
Three children were born to Emil and Jarmila: Alvira on living; Lana on
living, and Willard on living.
Alvira is presently living on the old homestead in a mobile home
with her mother, Jarmila, and is employed at the Lundberg Memorial
hospital in Creighton, Nebraska, as a nurse.
Lana married Robert Schroeder on June 22, 1969. Robert and Lana have
three children: Amy, born living; Alan on living, and
Angela on living. They are presently living and farming
west of Bloomfield, Nebraska. Lana is also employed at the hospital
in Creighton as a nurse.
Willard married Denise Vesely on October 25, 1969. Willard and
Denise have three children. Holly was born living; Neala
was born living, and Anthony on living. Willard
farmed with his father and continues to farm the old homestead with
Denise. He is presently serving as chairman of the Board of
Education of School District 83R (Verdigre). Denise is also employed
at the Verdigre Clinic as a nurse. They are living in the house
built in 1913 where William’s family and later Emil’s family lived.
