FRANK J. AND ROSIE A. [DOBRICHOVSKY] TUCH
Frank J. Tuch, son of Frank and Marie Jirasek Tuch, was born
February 6, 1881, on the Tuch homestead.
Rosie A. Dobrichovsky was born March 13, 1879, in Jestrabi Lhote,
Czechoslovakia. She came to America in 1881 at the age of two years
with her parents, Vac and Mary Dobrichovsky, and several brothers
and sisters. They settled in the Pischelville area.
Frank and Rosie were married March 27, 1907, at Center, Nebraska,
and made their home on the Tuch homestead. To them were born two
sons, Walter and Edwin, and one daughter Stazie.
Frank and his wife toiled together for thirty-nine years raising
cattle, hogs, sheep, chickens, and a garden. All the field work was
done with the help of horses. There was no modern machinery as we
know it today. They milked many cows and made lots of butter which
was sold to the Pischelville store four miles away. Most of the
horse-drawn machinery was bought from the sale of butter and eggs.
In 1912 they bought themselves a surrey (with the fringe on top).
This was a fancy carriage with kerosene lamps for light if one
traveled at night. The surrey was used only for pleasure trips. In
1915 the surrey was traded on a Model T., their first car.
Rosie suffered a stroke at her home and passed away suddenly on
January 25, 1946, at the age of 67 years. Frank continued to make
his home here with his son Walter and family. He and his wife were
both members of the ZCBJ Lodge of Pischelville No. 8. Frank was a
lodge member for 58 years, and they both were members of
Pischelville Farmers Union No. 197 for many years. Frank was a
charter member and received his 50-year membership pin in 1963.

Despite his age, Frank enjoyed good health until December 17, 1968,
when he sustained a bad hip injury which resulted from a fall on the
ice. He was taken to the Lynch, Nebraska, hospital where he suffered
a severe stroke the same evening. He failed to rally and passed away
on December 23 at the age of 87 years.
Frank and Rosie had seven grandchildren: Wallace and Dallas Tuch,
sons of Walter and Evelyn Tuch; John, Nancy (Tuch) Carpenter, and
Rosemary (Tuch) Davis, children of Edwin and Doris Tuch; Karen
(Bartholomew) McKeag and Barbara (Bartholomew) May, daughters of
Kenneth and Stazie (Tuch) Bartholomew.
