RAY W. WRIGHT

Ray Wright was born December 22, 1889, at Correctionville, Iowa. He came to Knox County with his parents, the Thomas Wright family. His childhood was spent on a farm near the Niobrara River - across from Dukeville, Nebraska.

After his marriage on May 19, 1915, to the former Antonia Diez, daughter of Wenzel and Theresia Diez, of Dukeville, they resided on a farm thirteen miles northwest of Verdigre in the Stoney Butte school district.

A daughter, Mildred, was born to this union. His wife passed away on July 4, 1926.

In January of 1931 he married Marie Marcan of Verdigre, who passed away in January of 1940.

After the end of World War II, his daughter and son-in-law John L. Kounovsky took over the farm. He spent the later years of his life in the Verdigre community.

He passed away in the Aurora, Nebraska, hospital in July of 1974 at the age of 84 years.
